UHCL Commencement

Role: Project coordinator

Commencement is a celebration of University of Houston-Clear Lake graduates held in the fall and spring semesters. I served as the project coordinator for the Marketing and Communications team from Fall 2018 to Spring 2021 to oversee production of the commencement program, ceremony script, website updates and day-of coverage. This involved setting internal deadlines, assigning tasks and collaborating with campus departments to execute plans and tasks.

Program

I coordinated the production timeline, content gathering, writing and editing for this print piece from Fall 2018 to Spring 2021. This involved setting deadlines and gathering content from the university registrar, Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, the Office of the President and University Advancement. I also set internal deadlines and assignments for members of the Marketing and Communications team. View the spring 2021 virtual ceremony program.

Ceremony script I created a separate production timeline, led content gathering, and assisted with editing the the virtual commencement ceremony script for the fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters. For this, I collaborated with Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, the Office of the President and University Advancement and Academic Affairs to gather content pieces. Website I set internal deadlines and assigned tasks for updates to the commencement section of the university website.

Coverage

To celebrate and capture moments from commencement, I led efforts for day-of coverage of commencement ceremonies, which included writing and posting live on social media, coordinating volunteers for event photography and photo booths, and creating a photo slideshow. For virtual ceremonies in 2020, I assigned tasks and set deadlines for a graphic designer who created custom social media graphics.
